Two things I always have are trail mix ingredients and an insatiable appetite for chocolate. I know I can go buy any candy bar or a Trader Joe’s chocolate treat, but sometimes it’s fun to come up with little treats with what I have hanging out in the kitchen. I stole this idea from Sister Nicole’s Pinterest and decided to play around with some nuts, dried fruit and chocolate to create a “healthier” chocolate treat! Next time I’m definitely adding a little cayenne pepper to my melted chocolate!
Trail Mix Wafers are so easy, it’s silly. Dig through your cabinets for whatever you may have to add to this deliciousness. Basically, anything goes!
Dried Pitted Cherries
Lightly Salted Sunflower Seeds
Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
2 cups of Dark Chocolate Chips
How to make these delicious discs:
Melt your chocolate in a sauce pan which is placed on top of another sauce pan of boiling water, this helps the chocolate not to burn and be sure to stir it around as it’s melting. Place some wax paper on a baking sheet, create a disc of chocolate using a tablespoon and begin to decorate your yummy wafers before they harden. Place them in the refrigerator and enjoy when need be! They are frigging delicious and definitely hit the spot!
