Selfishly, I love hosting Christmas Eve. It’s. Just. Fun. And then there are the leftovers! Everything from shrimp and oysters to cakes and ham, oh what’s a girl to do?
Here is list of some recipe inspiration, and to not wasting some perfectly good vittles.
Every year a Panetonne makes its way to the dessert table. When life gives you Italian bread, why not make bread pudding?
Christmas Day wouldn’t be official without a ham. I have a ham, mostly for the hock. As William would say, “Mom, ham is not my favorite.” But, ham hocks used for soups are the bomb! Navy Bean soup. Simple and delicious. These ingredients are all staples in my kitchen.
I personally love egg nog. Can’t drink it. Murders the stomach. So, lots left over. Why didn’t I think of this? Hello! Egg Nog French toast!
This shrimp salad looks so good and healthy!
Per usual, we have way too many oysters leftover. Oyster shooters for everyone!
Now, if we could round out this year with a blaster snow storm, I think a weekend at home with some homemade comfort food, surrounded by the people we love, sounds like a dream. Wishing you all the best this Holiday Season. From my kitchen to yours, Happy Holidays.
