I used to sunbathe, smoke cigarettes, and drink gin on the rocks. I remember having youth on my side thinking nothing about sagging breasts, brain function, or crows feet. Well, those days are gone and so is some collagen and brain cells. Fuck. I woke up one day (metaphorically) and decided I needed to take better care of me from the inside out. I do several things to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I eat healthy, I exercise at least 5 times per week, I drink a shit ton of water, I take vitamins and supplements, and I swallow some cool ass shit that benefits my body, among a few other healthy things. Today I have decided to fill you in on all of the supplements in my healthy living arsenal. Listen, I know there are mixed reviews about supplements and all of that jazz but opinions are like assholes. We all have one. This is a regimen that works for me. My skin is glowing, my ticker is strong, my mind is sharp, my nails aren’t as weak (sigh), my hair is a growin, my tummy is happier, my energy is increased and I am horny. I am not quite sure if my supplements are aiding in the last one but I thought I would share. Here are some of my favorite Supplemental Necessities.
Warm Organic lemon water and honey- I am not going to get into massive detail here but I will say I drink this concoction first thing, before I eat or drink anything else. Let’s just say it helps me start my day off right. I fill a glass with 8 ounces of warm water, the juice of half a lemon, and a big ass teaspoon of honey. I drink it the minute I get out of bed and I feel its benefits working right away. This is a great way to start my day!
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Gelcaps– My skin is noticeably different. Better. I have never had problematic skin but I have had skin dryer than an old mans nut bag. Ain’t nothing going to make you look older than dehydrated skin. Since adding coconut oil gel caps into my daily regimen, I have experienced glowing skin. Glowing skin in fucking February in Chicago. I have also noticed an increase in my energy. Some other reasons why I take this is because it is good for digestion, my brain, and my metabolism. Mmmmmmmhmmmm!
Ginkgo Biloba– aka Bilobes (yes, I gave it a nickname) I take Bilobes for my dome, for my mental function and memory. This ancient herb has been used to improve memory and brain function since before people trimmed their pubes. I also, at times, have issues with circulation. On occasion, I have experienced tingling in my digits. Not anymore, since I regularly take my Bilobes. I can actually feel a little tingle in my thinker when I take it. It definitely stimulates my brain and has helped with my memory.
Sublingual B12– I drop this stuff under my tongue usually around 2:00pm when my narcolepsy starts to set in. One dropper full and BAM! This bitch is back! B12 boosts my mood, energy, and memory. It fights my fatigue like a god damn superhero. It is also known to reduce stress and aid in certain cancer preventions. Oh, and it too is great for your thinker! This cool ass shit also boosts hair growth and promotes skin renewal by provoking cellular production. I love me some B12.
Biotin– This bad boy is for my hair, skin, and nails. I have noticed positive changes in all three since adding this to my collection. I am, however, going to finish up this bottle and hit up some gelatin capsules. Lauren has filled me in on some cool ass shit regarding it so I am going to give it a go. I will keep you posted.
Fennel oil– I drink this stuff for my intestinal and stomach health. It relieves some serious gas and bloating. That’s what my friend said, at least. I have never had gas. I mix a couple droppers into some warm water and down the hatch, especially after I eff up my stomach with some gluten and dairy. This stuff settles bloat like a champ. I cannot live without it and I carry it with me EVERYWHERE.
Fish Oils, DHA’s, and Omega’s– I take this for a ton of reasons but mainly for brain function. This shit is food for my brain. Having a family history of cognitive deficiencies and brain issues, I have learned saturating my thinker with this mighty stuff is super fucking beneficial. The more I plump my brain up with this stuff, the better! Not only do I take this to prevent cognitive digressions, it also helps with my ADHD.
Apple Cidar Vinegar aka Mother’s Milk- I down a shot glass of this sour, stinky shit everyday. There is an endless list of benefits for ingesting apple cider vinegar. My main reasons? It is so good for my skin and stomach. When I have a sour stomach/acid reflux, I take a couple tablespoons of ACV and Boom! ABfuckingC’ya, stomach and digestion issues! And there you have it. A few of the healthy things I love and need inside of me in order to feel my best and live a healthy life. Being proactive about your mental and physical health is the best thing you can do for yourself right now. Like anything, educate yourself and find what is best for you. I know one thing for sure. I do not want to get older and look back with regrets wishing I would have taken better care of myself when I had the fucking chance. I am not the healthiest bitch on the block but I am not far from it either. I am getting there and it feels so good to see the benefits of this regimen take place right before my eyes. Feeling the benefits feels even fucking better.
