Good Day TSPeeps! The sun is out and this sister ditched her parka on the walk to school with the kids this morning. Spring is on the horizon. Thank you Jesus. On that front, what a better blog topic to share on this amazing day than TSP’s second installment of our Fit Series.
Let’s talk about The Dailey Bar Method. TSP took our workout to the Lagrange Studio. This is what we learned. This style of exercise is a combination involving dance, yoga and pilates. I have to admit, I was nervous about this class. I was a Division 1 athlete, way back in the day, but the idea of doing any form of exercise involving a ballerina bar gives me “the anxiety”. As it turned out, once again, speculating, this was not at all what I expected, and I was sore for three days and not because we were doing pirouettes. No dance ability required. The dance component of the “bar method” has to do with improving posture and alignment. Lord knows we can all use a little work on that front.
A bar method class is a 60 minute class, no shoes, but booties are required. In our class we used a rubber band, a squishy ball, light weights and the bar. This was a full body sculpt class that focuses on high reps and the isolation of very small muscles. This is different than anything I have ever done before. It burned…in places I didn’t think it could. As the class moves through all of the muscle groups, core is the final destination. Upon my research, I learned a lot about core and spinal health and its importance. The Dailey Bar Method has spent the last 14 years evolving and improving and they know a thing or two about alignment.
While I was on my hands and knees squeezing my own butt cheeks, I could not help but notice our instructor’s ass. Is that wrong? It was incredible. The two tightest buns I have seen in a while. Kathleen was a force and you knew this lady was on it. Her explanations were great, she was inspiring and I loved that I could hear her. At The Dailey Method, instructors are Mic’d. The gym is super cute and the staff kick ass! They also have great retail. I wanted everything in the store. This particular location also offers child care and I know for all of us “working out” moms, thats HUGE!
If you like to feel like you just ran a half marathon and then did 12 power cleans, this will not be the joint for you, but if you are looking for an incredible, low impact, full body, muscle sculpting experience, The Dailey Method is your jam. Good news! This place is a national franchise and you can find them all over the country. My sisters and I loved our Fitsperience at the Dailey Bar Method and the DBM peeps even more.
Now, it is your turn to try something new. What is your next Fitsperience?
