Fall is approaching which means it is almost time for us to retire our cute little boho halters and high waisted jean shorts for some chunky cable knit sweaters and flares. 2015’s Autumn trends have me more excited than ever! Why? Because I cannot remember the last time I loved a seasons’ fashion entirely. I am in love with the hair, makeup, nails, clothes, shoes, handbags, runway, and street style. All of it (well, except for one trend. I hate it so much I want to freak out). Structure, the 70’s, turtle necks, exotic skins, furs, statement earrings, tweeds, matchy matchy, chunky knits, fringe, blazers, collared shirts, statement tights, a little leather (thank frigging god), combat boots, dark ass berry lips, block heals, capes, decadent prints and high necked blouses are just a few of my favorite micro trends. Get ready to be blown away.
The somewhat bed headed look parted down the middle is where you want your hair to be this season. When I mentioned structure earlier I was referring to handbags not hair which pretty much gives me a boner. Headbands, thick ass 70’s style, will be making a bit of an appearance as well. And when it comes to color, a little grown out root look is making a statement and so is the less is more look. Highlights are prevalent but blended, and bronde is an actual hair color right now. Yep. Bronde hair, not quite blonde not quite brown but super frigging pretty, has kicked ombre’s ass out the damn door.
Fall’s makeup trends are super exciting because girls who know makeup and girls who don’t both can have a frigging blast with the looks. They are wearable, doable, and lovable. You can pick one or the other. Dark ass lip or smoked out eye (click here and stock up on the first two for fall). And when you pick one you lay the eff off the other. Dark lip, natural eye. Like. Just mascara. Smoky eye? Chap sticked lip. The other makeup trend I am loving? The softly blushed cheek is replacing the contoured face look. Can I get a Hallelujah? Oh, and I introduced you all to my fave metallic eye a couple of weeks ago. Run don’t walk. The look is hot. Don’t forget the lashed out twiggy look. The 70’s are making a solid appearance and mama likey.
It’s fair to say the statement nail is still a thing but the uber glittered, flashy look has been replaced with the simplistic statement nail and the subtle negative space manicure. Deep berry and rich wine nail color are hot along with muted flesh tones and dark ass nails. Basically it is mucho important to have manicured nails. Get em did or do em yourself.
Structure, metallics, exotic skins, fringe, furs, and slip-through clutches are what you will be seeing a lot of this fall and what you need to be stuffing your pocket book into. Another thing that handbags are doing? Matchy matchy.
Ok. I have to admit. I am having a hard time with some of the shoe trends. I am super stoked about the combat boot look and can totally deal with and fall in love with some of the block heels. I am a whore when it comes to a sexy, super high stiletto but can deal with a little change this season. The one thing I cannot and will not be ok with, though? This shit right here.
What in the Sam Hell is this nonsense? Never have I ever fashionably hated something so much. All I can think about is all of the kaka and dust clinging on to the foot pubes. I can’t for one second deal with the fur shoe. Nails on a chalk board. That’s how I am reacting right now having to stare at the images and write about them.
Moving on. Other fall shoe trends have me swooning. Behold! The biker/combat boot, the boy shoe, the Mary Jane, the victorian flare, and more. Androgynous fashion is major and so is patchwork. Block heals and flats are where your shoe game needs to be.
Ok. So these images are from Fall fashion week and the runway is a crazy and fabulous place. Impossibly fashionable fashion, for me, is used as inspiration and visual stimulation. Numero uno. I can’t afford runway. Numero dos? Runway fashion is hardcore and can be a little too much. I like to look, love, and then shop the looks by taking inspiration from the runway. Basically, I pick out some trends I love for the season and then buy some staples. Pieces that will have some longevity and will assist me in my quest to be effortlessly and understatedly trendy. Here are some runway looks that are inspiring me this season.
The Street Style
I love me some street style. Reminds me of one of my favorite fashion quotes. “Fashion is what you buy, style is how you wear it.” Thus, anyone can buy fashion and wear it but not everyone has style. These bitches below def have style. It’s about allowing fashion to inspire you and run with it. Put pieces together that make you feel absolutely, positively you and frigging fabulous. If it doesn’t feel right when you put it on and put it all together, don’t wear it. If you love it and it makes sense to you then rock that shit! I am super excited for that chill in the air to arrive because I got me some furry stuff I need to put on my body. Oh, and the flares?!? Yeah, those too.
You see a theme here? The 70’s, fur, simple hair and makeup, big ass lapels, and knits are and are going to take the streets by storm come fall. I am game and come next week you will all get to see the fall staples hanging in my closet to make Fall 2015 my bitch. I can’t wait.
So there you have it. Fall Fashion trends for 2015. You dig it? How could you not?! Fashion is pretty frigging awesome. Let it guide you to find your true sense of style. Why is style so cool? Because it is a way to express yourself visually and it tells people exactly who you are without having to speak. Now that, my sisters, is pretty frigging cool.
Love it. Live it. Share it.
