Hello friends! Oh how I have missed you. It has been a busy summer and I am excited to get back and share lots of exciting things with you all in the near future. But, while the sun is still shining high and bright, let’s not fast forward quite yet.
This year marks the fifth year Ryan and I have enjoyed the trip that marks our summer’s end in Cassopolis, Mi on the mysteriously charming Diamond Island. Every year we laugh because we say the same thing every single time we come. “Best vacation ever!” I swear, this little gem is magical. I relish every moment we are off the grid and good news, we survived the road trip and all, DEVICE FREE! To make matters even better, the weather has been damn near perfect every single day and each moment here has once again proven that the lake life is an experience I highly recommend. A dose of this should have you back with your battery recharged, ready to conquer the world.
Now, let it be known, I am partial to Michigan. There is nothing like a sunset here and it’s geographical location makes it all the more appealing to us. I am confident, however, that there are incredible lakes all over God’s green earth and even if it isn’t “pure Michigan” it would be just as great. Just go ahead and find yourself a little nook, bare bones is all you need and immerse yourself in the lake life. Wake up when the water is like glass and the sounds of it gently hitting the shore is the only thing you can hear. Set out for a day’s worth of adventure, R & R and as many day drinks you can handle. Then when the day ends, head to the deck, might as well grab another cocktail and sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset as every day on vacation should end with just that.
Ryan and I will keep our tradition alive by closing our trip window shopping on our way out in hopes to find our someday lake home. Until then, a list of things that I wholeheartedly believe are the reasons lake life is the best life. Cheers!
