The last time we went to NYC we treated it like Vegas. The funny thing about that is The Mister Project and I were literally torn between a trip to Sin City or The Big Apple that particular weekend. We ultimately decided on New York because we wanted a more relaxing few days away. Well, if falling out of a cab because your ankles stopped working after an extremely fun day with friends drinking rosé all day and bouncing around the city isn’t the exact opposite of relaxing, then I don’t know what is. That hangover lasted four days. Four. But that’s the thing about that big ass, beautiful city – once you arrive and breathe in the air, let your eyes and mind adjust to all the momentum, you become part of it. The energy that is NYC can manifest itself in infinite ways. You can party and fall out of cabs. You can be a total tourist and see all the landmarks and stereotypical things that a tourist would see. You can eat your way thru the city. Experience their insane culture of art and music. Hang out in different parks all weekend long. You can shop your way through it. Walk through it – run through it! The possibilities of exploration and experience never end in that city and that is why I love it so much. This past trip I was coming in hot, literally. I for sure had a fever and an awful cold, however I was doing everything in my power to convince myself it was just really bad allergies. I was in town as a wedding guest for my college roommate so no freaking cold was going to stop me from enjoying time with some of my dearest friends, husband and new friends. I knew I had to pull it together, consume a shit ton of Claritin D, shots of ginger, Aleve and Advil Severe Cold and Flu and just survive. I’m extremely certain a doctor wouldn’t suggest a human to do that, but I’m still alive and I can say that I had one of the best weekends away this year. With the combination of my self-medicated agenda, the cities incredible coffee culture and the vibes one feels when in NYC, nothing and I mean nothing was going to stop me from having a good time. Saying that we had a “good time” is the understatement of the year, but those details will have to wait until later this week as it’s time to unpack, get back to reality, and daydream of New York City.
Have a beautiful week, TSPeeps! Stay tuned for more on this trip later this week. XOXO
Love it. Live it. Share it.
