There is something about the summer months that make me feel refreshed, more alive and ready for anything. Chicago winters can be pretty brutal and they really limit me from some of the things I love most. Things like the warmth of the sun shine on my face, driving with the windows down, taking a walk without wearing eighteen layers of clothes, the list can go on and on. Now don’t get me wrong, there are some amazing things to do in winter, but at a certain point, usually around March, I am ready for nature to get it’s act back together. So needless to say I am thrilled that it is finally June and warmer days are right around corner…well, hopefully. This is Chicago after all. With that being said, I have a list of things I am ready to start up again. I’m looking forward to riding my bike all over the city, going to music and street fests, spending summer days with family and friends, enjoying the farmer’s market, listening to the symphony at Millennium Park and watching movies in the park. I just tried fishing for the first time yesterday with my little brother and I am hooked! Chicago kayak fishing has officially been added to my summer list. And at night time, when I feel like being a home body, I look forward to watching old Hollywood classics with my husband and a glass of rose in hand. There is SO much to do and look forward to, sometimes it’s hard to get it all in and that’s ok, because everything happens for a reason. I can just feel it…this summer is going to be fabulous and full of adventures!!! And don’t forget to live in the moment and try something new this summer. xo
To quote Marilyn Monroe on her birthday:
“Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there is so much to smile about.”
Love It. Live It. Share It.
