Earlier this week I Facebooked about how I would love to have a snow storm and then yesterday, it snowed all day. I have some friends that would say I manifested it. I may very well have, or perhaps it is February in Chicago and that is what happens here this time of year. Either way, the snow outside is beautiful. If I had to rate this little snowfall, based on snow quality, weight and sheer beauty, I would have to give it an A+. It is light and fluffy, (for when you do shovel, its not going to break your back) and the landscape looks like a winter wonderland. What more could you ask for?! Apparently, for some people, this is their personal hell on earth. LOL. I happen to love everything about it. I thoroughly enjoy the sense of adventure that flares up inside of me when it snows. I love to look at it. Even if it is from the window while I watch my kiddos play in it. How times have changed. And every time it snows, it teleports my soul back to my childhood. It brings up lots of memories. Like the time we got blasted with snow and Nicole and I put our mom’s fur coats on and snow blew their massive driveway. We looked ridiculous. I am sure someone peed from laughter. Or when we got dumped with a couple feet of snow and some high school friends and I launched ourselves off of the second level of our deck into a humongous mound of snow below. #BestTimeEver And my personal favorite snow story, which is more like a legend I guess since I was too young to remember, took place during the blizzard of 79′. Our grandmother babysat us while our parents went out. The snow drifts were 6 feet tall and our grandma, shrinking every day, probably measured in at about 5’0″. My parents came home to “Teeny Tiny Tina”, as we affectionately referred to her, shoveling the driveway with a fireplace shovel. Where there is a will, there is a way. God love that tenacious little woman. However you slice this one, I am definitely a glass half full kind of gal. In this particular case, snow angel maker. Embrace the things you can’t control and hold dear the fun you had while the universe gave you snow.
Love it. Live it. Share it.
