Greetings from Australia TSPeeps! I know some of you are a bit piled up with snow, so I come to you in peace offering sunshine and cool beach vibes. The Mister Project and I are on the last leg of our trip….Bali here we come! Exploring Australia and it’s beaches has been one of the coolest adventures we have been on yet. We have hit up Manly Beach and Bondi Beach in Sydney, St.Kilda in Melbourne, Byron Bay in Brisbane, Coral Cove on Hamilton Island, and yesterday we visited THE most beautiful beach we have ever seen before, Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet. You hear people say, “oh, it’s gorgeous” and you see the photos and hope it’s truly just as pretty and that it didn’t take a billion filters to achieve said photo. Well, I can confirm that it is extraordinarily spectacular! I have never in my life seen such white sand and crystal blue water. So crystal clear in fact, we were able to see a baby shark and a massive sting ray swim right past us. Now, there is a part of the beach you must do when you visit. There is an easy, short walk up to a viewing area. We were told by our guides it is a must, and indeed it is….here have a look. Not a filter or photoshop needed. Those colors and textures!
By the time we reached the top we were really blown away by the view and exceptionally excited to get back into the water. Did I mention it was SO hot? Queue sun beating on us and our once cold water was getting very warm. You know how sometimes you accidentally put two words together that mean relatively the same thing but you awkwardly join them together, without meaning to? Well, just as I alerted our guides that The Mister Project and I were going to head back to go swim, Anthony yells out, “I’m going to take a dump!”. Yes, you read that right, a dump. I looked at him and said, “wait, what?!”and died laughing. The poor thing apparently was having sun stroke (joke) and put the words “dip” and “jump” into one word because he was a little overwhelmed with the heat. We cry laughed our way back to the beach. Actually, we woke up today still laughing.
We hired the boat Ricochet (seen below on the right) on Hamilton Island to take us out for the day. We shared the boat with about ten other people and couldn’t have had a more wonderful day. The fellow passengers and staff were delightful, making the experience so much more exciting than it already was. I won’t forget this day, the sights or the people anytime soon.
After spending some time on the beaches of Australia I have perfected the essentials for your beach bag on your next beach vacay. Spring break and warmer temps are going to be here soon! Here is what is in my bag and what has protected my skin and face, kept me entertained and has helped while being on the go daily. It’s so important to take time off of work and take time for yourself. Don’t forget to get some “you” time in this year, even if it’s three days off of work and a staycation, you deserve it. We all do! Off to Bali, if you want to follow along, follow me on Instagram at @themidsis. In the meantime, have a peek at what we’ve learned so far on this wild and crazy Aussie Adventure! xo
