First of all, I would to thank you for reading our blog, The Sister Project. Some of you come nearly every single day. I am so grateful. The daily dose of euphoria I feel from working on TSP makes everything else in life manageable. Couple that along with working closely, alongside two of my sisters day in and day out, to say this is fun is an understatement. I love what I do and want to continue. With that being said, this whole process has been an experiment and we have absolutely no idea what we are doing. We need your help.
For the last year, I have been trying to figure out why our comments section on the blog is like an old, deserted ghost town. We’ve got tumbleweed blowing around here. And, like I said earlier, this whole process has been more trial and error rather than full steam ahead. I am well aware of the fact that there are way more crickets than comments. We have tried changing it up. We even switched commenting systems, which proved to be an epic fail. For the time that new comment plugin ran we received zero, ZERO comments! So, we switched back. The situation has improved, a little, but not enough. TSP’s comment section is as quiet as a mouse.
However, that is not to say our Facebook page isn’t a hustling and bustling marketplace. We are generating comments and conversation and likes all over town! It’s like a virtual Friday night on TSP’s Facebook page. I love it. It puts a spring in my step, and it proves that our content and the blog as a whole is encouraging TSPeeps to share their thoughts on some of the blogs we share weekly. Unfortunately, that is great…for Facebook, but not for TSP. And let us be honest, Zuckerberg is doing pretty ok. So, this is where you are going to come in. This is where I ask for your help.
We need you to stay on our blog and share your comments, complaints, praise, perhaps a link, the name of a person you think we should connect with, basically whatever your little heart desires, right here on this site. On our website. The Sister Project. Now and forever. This is why.
Everyone always asks me the same question when I tell them I am a blogger. “Now, how does a blog make money, exactly?” I will tell you. In order for a blog to make any sort of business out of their blog, whether it be through advertising or doing “sponsored posts” for a brand or company, there is one very important key element. That element is traffic. It sounds selfish, I know, but community contribution on our actual blog encourages more traffic to our website. Remember? We need that to succeed. So moving forward, think about TSP as our home, my home. So come in and take a load off. Have an espresso. Let’s shoot the shit and you can stay awhile. Can you dig it?
And don’t think you are the only ones upping your game around here. My sisters and I are going to make a concerted effort and you will be hearing from us, alot more! Right here. We are excited to hear from you and look forward to building our community together on The Sister Project.
My name is Michelle. I am a married mom of twins and this is my home. Come on in. What’s your name? Where are you from? Do you take anything with your coffee?
Love it. Live it. And please, comment on the blog!
