Ok political people, don’t get your panties in a bunch, it’s only Monday. The joke can go both ways, simmer down now. Here’s the deal, what we have here are two candidates running for president, that many (I know not all) would agree, neither one is the complete package to be in charge of our badass country. However, someone is going to have to do the job and it’s up to us to choose who we think will do the best in office. That is the beauty of our country, we get to help make that decision. Now, unless you’ve been living under a gigantic boulder, it is nearly impossible to not be, to some degree, infiltrated by the massive amounts of opinions, news articles, Facebook wars and political memes that are currently part of all of our daily lives. I totally get sucked into the drama myself and I love nothing more than a thought provoking political debate from time to time. I also love reading some of the comments on Facebook for two reasons, some I get to learn from and some I get to laugh really hard at, it’s a two for one!
In any case, my point, read and learn about your candidates. Read the facts, not the memes and rhetoric. Those are full of shit. Read unbiased literature and learn about the two people who have a 50/50 shot at becoming our leader. Learn what each of their plans are once they become president and with those plans, will they truthfully be able to get them done or are they just speaking out of their ass telling people what they want to hear? And then consider every aspect of your citizenry and one of those individuals being responsible for how you get to experience life here. Think about the children, the females in your life and how their lives and health will be affected by the next president. Think about people who aren’t like you, or in the same place, job, ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality as you. Will your candidate be in favor of equal living among us all? What is his or her experience and expertise on all political matters? Does he or she possess strong leadership skills? How do they react under pressure? How do they treat American citizens? Every single component of what makes you a citizen of this country should be a factor when you make your decision come November. Vote. One of the most wonderful feelings in the world. You get to walk out from that booth knowing that you did your part to help mold the future of our country. That’s a freaking cool ass feeling of you ask me.
Our country is a beautiful country. Is it a bit f*cked up too? Sure, but aren’t we all? Everything in life is a work in progress. No matter how shitty things can get, it’s important to keep our heads up, have a positive outlook on life, respect one another and see the good. We are a very lucky group of people to have the opportunity to live here – take the opportunity you get to vote and get er done.
If all else fails, just vote for yours truly.
Love it. Live it. Share it.
