If you haven’t dipped your toe in the podcast world then you are seriously missing out. I am regularly shocked by how many people still have not taken a liking to this medium. Podcasts might be my favorite source for information and a good time.

I listen to a variety of podcasts for very different reasons. Some entertain me, others are for educational purposes only. Very often, podcasts are quite the inspiration. If I am listening to a really good one, it can be the source of all three aforementioned things.

At this very moment I have five steadies in my rotation. Depending on my mood, I could listen to a different one every day or binge a whole slew of them in one week.

Here is my mixed bag of badass podcasts that are a part of my routine right now:

The Goop Podcast

This is probably my top three favorite podcasts ever. Let me let you in on a little bit of a secret: Gwyneth Paltrow is way cooler than you think. She says “fuck” and smokes an annual cig. Don’t judge her. Her podcast is overflowing with what Goop calls paradigm-shifting content. If you are into things like healthy living, talks with Oprah and a shitload of glorious information about random things you would never know, you will love this podcast.

The Art of Decluttering

I didn’t find this podcast, it found me. The universe heard my cries for some organizing help and one day when I was aimlessly scrolling, their catchy little podcast image caught my eye. I am not sure but I believe these gals are Aussies. You know how we love our Aussies around here. They are organizing obsessed friends and moms and they offer weekly episodes about organizing everything from baby supplies to Christmas décor to tips on ways to organize your teens room without encroaching on their privacy. I love that! This one is for all the organizationally impaired.

#momtruth

If you are a lady that likes to laugh, stop what you are doing right now and subscribe to Cat and Nat’s podcast, #momtruth right now. Let me put it this way, I could listen to these two nut bags every single day. They are wildly funny and, when you aren’t recovering from a mild laugh attack, Cat and Nat are sharing their story of how they became accidental mom millionaires. Which, by the way, was no accident. They are brilliant. Disclaimer: You do not have to be a mom to listen to this podcast. You have to have an affinity for bad words, farting, and fupas. This one is pure unadulterated fun!

Parenting In The Thick of It

I stumbled upon this incredible parenting resource after a recent ADHD diagnosis in my house. Actually, Louise and I are kind of friends now. Well, Instagram friends anyway. If you are a parent and you are looking for some coaching and expert advice, tune in to this one. Louise is funny, her podcasts are short and sweet, and I never conclude without having left with some pretty on point advice or a fresh perspective on how to handle an in-the-moment parenting situation.

Oprah’s Master Class

Of course, I saved the Queen Bee for last. If you are one of those people that love to hear Oprah’s melodic voice and a good celeb story, grab your favorite coffee drink, pop in those earbuds and enjoy. You know this lady isn’t interviewing the B team. Folks like Justin Timberlake, Ellen Degeneres and Jane Fonda are sharing their life’s journey in a storytelling fashion and it is downright riveting. Oprah calls our life our ‘class’ and she is serving up podcasts with the actual masters in their own class. This podcast will leave you inspired and entertained.

If you are a first-timer or one of those folks who doesn’t know how to listen to a podcast, call me. I’ll show you how…to find the app on your phone. Get with it! Plus, we want to be sure our readers know their way around that application when our podcast goes live…

Hygge is humble and slow. It is choosing rustic over new, simple over posh, and ambience over excitement. In many ways, hygge might be the Danish cousin to slow and simple living.
