@rawpixel

You guys.

We are so excited to announce to you all….

the very first annual:

Hygge Project Challenge!!!!!!

When  I say HOO, you say GAH! HOO! GAHHHH!

Here’s the deal. February 28th is International Hygge Day and in honor of this spectacular day (and lifestyle), we decided what better way for folks to find their hygge than to hold a celebration and challenge!

We here at The Sister Project love inspiring our readers to appreciate the simple things in life while getting present. There’s so much clutter and noise in our lives that sometimes we all just need to stop, collaborate, and ponder the things that give us warmth and inner happiness.

What is the challenge: show us your hygge!!!

In other words, in a photo and caption on Facebook and/or Instagram – tell us what YOUR hygge is. Share what makes your heart happy and when you feel most present and in a hygge state of mind.

Here are some ideas:

  • movie night with your tribe
  • on an airplane heading to a new land for adventures
  • a big ass glass of your favorite wine or an Aperol Spritz
  • a stack of books you’re dying to read
  • on the beach with your toes in the sand
  • your home
  • Sunday newspaper session
  • donuts! (they’re definitely my hygge!)
  • connecting with a friend over wine or coffee
  • walking thru nature
  • your pet!
  • making dinner for family and friends
  • sipping coffee alone before the family wakes
  • your favorite cozy sweater
  • baked goods!

The point is, your hygge is anything that makes you feel more connected, less stressed, cozy, and in the present.

Here’s what to do:

Follow us on  Facebook and/or Instagram if you don’t already.

Post your photo and caption by TUESDAY, March 12.

Use the hashtag: #thehyggeproject anywhere in your caption

Tag us: @thesisterproj – we don’t want to miss your post!

Names of those who participated will be put into a hat (literally – that’s how I do it) and a winner will be chosen.

THE PRIZE?! Oh my goodness! We have rounded up some amazing prizes from our most favorite local shops and brands! One lucky winner will win it all!

Please feel free to share this challenge with your friends and family on social media. The more the merrier!

We are so excited to see what hygge means to all of you and how you implement it into your beautiful life.

Happy Hygge-ing!!!! The challenge starts NOW!

Hygge is humble and slow. It is choosing rustic over new, simple over posh, and ambience over excitement. In many ways, hygge might be the Danish cousin to slow and simple living.
