As we head into the warmer months and ditch our winter layers, I want to feel like, look like, and smell like summertime vibes until it’s absolutely time to pull out our scarves and boots again. However, in the meantime, I want to see nothing that resembles the need to cozy up in cold weather.
My mind and body need to get Spring and Summer on, ASAP.
Now, in order to feel prepared for Spring and Summer – there are a few necessities. We’re talking lotions that smell like the beach, the perfect adult inflatable pool, and some sneakers that will have you feeling like you’re walking on big, white, fluffy clouds. And then some!

Here are a few of my absolute favorite things this Spring so far.
All Birds
Before purchasing these I did a little social media research and found that consumers were exceptionally pleased and many, in love, with their All Bird sneakers. After all the positive feedback, I figured these may be the perfect shoe for my new job. The results are in – these shoes are ridiculously comfortable…and cute. I’ve also washed them in the washer as encouraged. They’re in one piece and as cozy as ever.
Espolòn Tequila Blanco
Whether you want to sip on this tequila Blanco neat or you feel like a spicy tequila spritz – this here tequila is the perfect go-to. It’s reasonably priced, quite delicious, and can be found at Trader Joe’s. Always a plus. My two other favorites: Casa Amigos and Patron Silver.
Avexia – Pain Relief Balm
This one is for our medicinal cannabis cardholders. Avexia’s Pain Relief Balm is glorious. This little potion of both CBD and THC has my aches and pains from past shoulder and neck injuries getting some serious relief. Like everything else in life, it doesn’t solve all my problems, but it most certainly aids in having me feeling better on the regular.
Ole Henriksen; Hygge Mask
Ole Henriksen creates some seriously desirable skin care – this hygge mask being no exception. This mask is a perfect way to prep for a night out or heck, for a night in! I actually love using this mask on my forehead, cheeks, and chin while using their Cold Plunge Mask on my nose. See ya clogged pores! Hello, soft and clear skin.
Fern Fans
I am of the mind that hand fans are the best thing that has happened to humans since sliced bread and every human should own one. Legit, these little origami type masterpieces can save you from the hottest of days. As long as you have no shame in the game and can own the fact that you are using a hand fan – then blow that hair back baby! Trust me, on a hot ass night, your friends will try to steal your fan. A. Because they want to cool off. B. Because fans are the most perfectly functional accessory….ever.
Cutest Inflatable Pool Ever, by Target
Last summer I invested $15 in a plastic pool. You know, like the ones people buy for their two-year-olds when they want to give them something to splash in as entertainment. This 36-year-old, city dweller is no different. Chicago can get hot as balls during the summer, so I like to be prepared. This year I’m doing it in style and getting myself one of these fashionable pools from Target. I can literally imagine myself chilling in this with a spritz in one hand and a Vanity Fair in the other. I’m ready for ya, 95-degree heat!
Firming Oil, by Eminence
I received this oil in a swag bag from The Langham hotel and let me tell you – this potion is legit. It’s no botox in a bottle, but it sure as heck keeps my skin looking moisturized, smooth, and happy.
Almond Coconut Body Butter, by Laura Mercier
I swear, this body butter is like getting a long hug from a warm coconut that has been lounging on the beach for five hours. I particularly love this scent because when I am working and not lounging on a beach myself…it allows me to at least catch some of those beachy vibes while indoors.
Collagen Inner Beauty Boost, by The Beauty Che
Here’s how I feel about this potion. It tastes absolutely delicious and the girl that talked me into buying it had incredible skin and nails. She said it was because of this collagen. Now, I’m not a total idiot and I know that she probably has good genes too, but hey, I’m down to try anything to help the cause. I’ll keep you posted how my own nails and hair are going after I use this for at least another two weeks or so.
Tajín
If you have not yet tried Tajín, you are missing out! You like fruit? Good, here’s a way to spice it up! It goes so perfect on pineapple, jicama, melon, orange slices, and cucumbers. I squeeze some lime on my fruit, sprinkle some of this all over, and go to town! It’s a great outdoor party treat as well. You also need this for my fav summertime tequila cocktail.
