Our favorite things to share on The Sister Project are the products we are obsessing over at the moment. Truth be told, we like what we like and don’t consume much. If we use a product or see something we know will make life easier for you, we share it. We try to make eco-conscious choices when it comes to buying things; sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don’t. Point is, we are always thinking about it.

Per usual, this list includes one of Lauren’s favorite fall candles, a book Michelle could not put down and hygge products to elevate cozy spaces. We rounded it out with some lifestyle items we think everyone can use along with a couple of other surprises. While we hope this list finds you perfectly content in whatever it is you are doing, it’s our mission to help make it just a pinch better.

Here is our current list of favorite things:

* * * * * *

Spotted Sheepskin from Hygge Life

These sheepskins come from our favorite hygge store, Hygge Life.  They are made in Europe, non-bleached or dyed, and free of all chemicals. A little sheepskin might just be the thing you need to amp up your hygge nook.

Shine Trim Wool Fedora Hat

If you are one of those gals who loves hats as much as me, you are going to love this practical autumn fedora.  I like a hat that isn’t over-sized, hides a bad hair day (which is everyday for me) but still looks cool and will go with just about everything in my wardrobe. Check. Check. Double check.

Where The Crawdads Sing

If you are looking for a page-turner to kick of your fall reading initiative, then look no further. I was sneaking pages at my desk at work and stole my daughter’s reading lamp to sneak some more in after everyone was asleep. This is what it is about in two sentences.

“For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So, in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl.”

Madewell Denim Jacket

I am a simple girl who likes practical things. Denim jackets are a staple in my closet. They are interchangeable, easy to layer and the perfect wardrobe piece when one is transitioning from summer to fall. Madewell is just as it sounds, made well. I buy a size down because their stuff often runs on the bigger size.

Yeti Tumbler

At this point, if you don’t have a Yeti then you are way late to the party. Talk about a sipping vessel with tons of versatility. This BPA-free, double-insulated, dishwasher safe cup will keep your adult beverages ice cold and your morning coffee piping hot throughout the day. Consider how cool you will look trick-o-treating with your littles, Yeti in hand. Solo cups are so last year (and so shitty for the environment)…

PlanetBox

I have tried every lunch box on the planet. (See what I did there?) Guess what? PlanetBox wins. I love its basic and effective design and the fact that it is dishwasher safe. PlanetBox comes in three sizes. I purchased the Rover (pictured above). When you use a compartment-style lunch box like PlanetBox, packing is easy (for the kids) and there is no waste. Most importantly, compartment-style lunch boxes encourage whole food meals.

Glenda Waterproof Sneaker Bootie by Blondo

It wouldn’t be a proper list if I didn’t sneak in some camouflage. I already own this sneaker-bootie in the mushroom color. They are as comfortable as they are cute and totally waterproof.  If you are a gal on-the-go or looking for a way to jazz up your yoga attire, you just found your shoe.

Metallic Paper Wine Bag Cooler

The OG of hygge, aka Hygge Life, has done it again with another sustainable and super cute wine cooler. Chilled wine in a metallic sack sounds like music to any gal’s ears. This Italian-made wine tote is perfect for your next picnic or a way to gift a bottle to a friend.

DW Pumpkin Rum Candle

It is a family tradition to burn pumpkin scented candles from August through November. Every year, we search high and low for candles that appeal to our autumn-obsessed sniffers. DW has done it again with the Pumpkin Rum scent. If you like the sound of spiced pumpkins, cinnamon apples and rum then you are going to love this one.

CocoKind Cleansing Oil

This cleaning oil removes dirt and all the stuff without messing with your face’s PH levels. This oil is for all skin types, oily or dry. It is natural, restorative and totally organic.

Ole Henriksen’s Phat Glow Facial

Lauren received this facial in a goody bag from Ole Henriksen and she is obsessed! This really is the at home facial everyone should have handy. If you are looking for a natural freshness that has your skin looking plump and illuminated, try this on for size. Your face will love it and so will you.

Hygge is humble and slow. It is choosing rustic over new, simple over posh, and ambience over excitement. In many ways, hygge might be the Danish cousin to slow and simple living.
