As we make our way through winter, I thought I’d share some things that I am watching, listening to, reading, and loving.
Below is a plethora of items that have been keeping me cozy and busy throughout January ranging from self-care, entertainment, continued education, self-improvement, and all-around wintertime well-being.
Dive in, have a look around, and I hope something here interests you.
Books I am reading:
Eat That Frog
My friend, Katie, highly suggested this quick and insanely informative read on goal setting, productivity, and time management. I’m learning an incredible amount of ways to prioritize my time as well as use that time efficiently. Shop, here.
The Desire Map
I was gifted this book almost three years ago, but due to a lot going on in my life and tending to a sick mom – I was nowhere able to commit to doing this kind of work at the time…until now. At this moment in my life, a different kind of fire inside me burns and I am so ready to learn how to make goals that are driven by how they make me feel. If you’re looking for some inspiration, shop, here.
Skincare I am loving:
Honest Organic Facial Oil
What we have here is a face oil that will have your face looking and feeling moisturized all day long. No joke. I gua sha with this oil every single day to give my winter skin a little pick me up, but what it gives me is so much more than that. It has a delightful, earthy scent that is not at all overwhelming and actually quite pleasant. Shop, here.
m61 Vitablast C Serum
I was in great need of a Vitamin C serum so I thought I’d go with one of my favorite skincare lines, m-61 by Blue Mercury. Although oil-free and lightweight, this serum packs a punch. After a month of using Vitablast C I’ve noticed my skin appears smoother, brighter, and overall clearer. Shop, here.
Pro tip: And while you’re at it, you might as well pick up their Power Glow Peel Pads – prepare for facial vibes and everyone telling you how good your skin looks.
Watching:
Night Stalker
True Crime junkies buckle up. This 4-part docuseries covers murders committed by Richard Ramirez in California back in the ’80s. This is a tough one so be aware that the crimes committed are as intense as they are graphic. With that being said, what I enjoyed most (if that is at all possible) were the detectives on the case, the backstory of how they solved the crime, and how the people within the community helped catch a killer. It’s one hell of a crime story. Available on Netflix.
Bridgerton
Take a dive into London’s high society circa 1800 as the Bridgerton clan navigate life and have lots and lots of steamy sex scenes. This show is not for children, but what a fun watch to binge on a snowy Sunday. Inspired by Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels, Bridgerton will whisk you away in a world of beautiful English accents, incredible costumes, and did I mention a lot of makin’ love? Available on Netflix.
Listening to:
The Rabbit Hole
The New York Times investigates what happens when individuals move their lives online in this 8-part series. If you’ve ever wondered how conspiracy theories have the ability to infiltrate newsfeeds and how we see what we do on the internet, it’s all in the user’s behavior. This podcast is a doozy and so worth listening to.

Ologies
This podcast hosted by Alie Ward is one of my go-to’s. Ologists from all over the world sit down for chats on everything and anything. My most recent (and timely) favorite episodes were the study of decluttering, oikology, and the study of vaccines, infodemiology.

Cozy Conversations with The Sister Project
Of course, our podcast is on the list. What do you think I am, a knucklehead? If you’re looking to sit in on some good old fashion sisterly conversation, look no further. Michelle and I cover our life experiences, pop culture, and current events in our radio talk show inspired podcast. There lots of laughing, lots of inspiration, and everyone who tunes in says it makes them “feel good!” Just check the reviews and you’ll see for yourself.

Cannabis & CBD
Equilibria Gel Caps
These Daily CBD gelcaps are part of my every single day routine. Down they go with all my other daily vitamins and supplements. The most popular question I get about CBD…”will it make me feel high?” The answer to that is a solid, NO. Our motto here is, it’s not about what you feel when you take good quality CBD, it’s about what you don’t feel. It helps take the edge off.

Matter Spots 1:1 Gummies
Now, if you are looking to add a little THC into your life might I recommend these delicious little gumdrops called Spots, by Matter. These are 1:1 gummies, meaning there are equal parts THC and CBD in each one, 5mg of each to be exact. These are the perfect introduction to THC as they can easily be micro-dosed by cutting them in half. I love the flavor and texture of them as well. They’re a true delight. To shop, head to Verilife or your nearest dispensary.
Pro tip: Always suck on your edibles, they’ll move into your system a bit swifter.
Apps I love:
Raise your hand if you collect links for articles you’re “going to read in the future”. Yeah, me too. Well, not anymore. I was so sick and tired of texting myself articles I planned to read “one day”, I knew there had to be an app to house them all. With one simple google search, I confirmed my assumptions. Indeed there is an app by the name of Pocket to help you keep all of your articles in one place. Use tags to help organize and you’ll have all your links in one spot. It is a gamechanger.
Haven’t tried yet, but can’t wait to:
Ghia
This non-alcoholic aperitif has my name written all over it. Ghia is packed with beautiful botanicals, heady herbs, and no booze. I repeat, no booze. But you enjoy it as if it were a cocktail. I have yet to try it, but a bottle is on the way and I can’t wait to report back so stay tuned! Shop Ghia, here.
I hope something here piqued your interest or perhaps have you thinking outside the box.
Let me know what you dug!
