A few years back on a visit to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I was introduced to one of the most delicious boozy iced coffee drinks I had ever had in my life.
We were sitting at the bar inside a very cute little taco joint when I mentioned I was a bit tuckered out. The lady bartender heard me and asked if I wanted her to whip me something up, “sí, gracias!” I replied, but little did I know it would be a drink I would never forget.
The moment I tasted this iced coffee cocktail I nearly fell off my barstool…it was exceptional.
And here’s the twist. I don’t typically do boozy coffee drinks. They have really never been my thing, that is, until that time in Puerto Vallarta.
I knew the drink was made with Liquor 43, but other than that, I wasn’t sure what else was in there.
As it turns out, it was the only thing in there along with the espresso.
Just recently, I spoke with a skilled bartender here in Chicago and when I mentioned this caffeinated cocktail to him, well, he whipped me one right up.
I took one sip and felt like I was sitting back at that barstool in Puerto Vallarta.
I declare this will be the most glorious boozy iced coffee you will have all summer long.
