Bliss
Stroll around Garfield Park Conservatory. One of the largest and most stunning conservatories in the nation you are definitely going to bliss out. TIP: Be sure to make a reservation.
Spend the entire day at Promontory Point. When I am looking to experience the lake, I set up a picnic at my favorite spot in the entire city located on the south side near the Hyde Park neighborhood. Promontory Point is a breathtaking gem – go experience for yourself this summer. It’s magical.
Take a stroll through Graceland Cemetery. Located on the northside of the city, this cemetery acts also as an arboretum. With many famous Chicagoans buried here, the monuments are just as beautiful as the trees and ponds. Bliss out with the dead!
Book self-care at Moon Rabbit Acupuncture. Bliss out at my favorite spot for Chinese medicine and bodywork. Nestled in the West Loop neighborhood, it’s the perfect spot to visit for some wellness, acupuncture, cupping, and calm vibes. TIP: Stop by Madison Street Books right next door to support another amazing small business.
Bliss Book Recommendation: The Green Witch, by Arin Murphy – Hiscock OR People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry
Love
Experience AIRE for a relaxing (and romantic) bath experience with your lover or favorite person to get your chill vibes on with. The salt bath is, hands down, my favorite.
Enjoy a romantic dinner at Ciccio Mio for an exceptional Italian dinner. The branzino, chicken parmesan, and dirty martini will knock your socks off. And maybe your pants too!
Stay at Nobu for a romantic city getaway in the heart of THE spot to be in the city. The West Loop is packed with incredible restaurants and shopping making Nobu the perfect addition to this already hip neighborhood. TIP: Stop at Jeni’s for some world-class ice cream.
Grab a pizza at Spacca Napoli. You know that saying: when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore! For me, this is true because I actually got married at this insanely delicious pizzeria. Pop a Love Drop and grab a Za!
Love Book Recommendation: Eleanor and Park, by Rainbow Rowell OR Outlander, by Diana Gabaldon
Genius
Have a work picnic at The University of Chicago’s Main Quadrangle. Throw down a blanket, grab a book or your laptop and sit among other geniuses at Chicago’s most beautiful campus. It’s breathtaking. TIP: Stop at Medici on 57th for the best danish in town and an iced tea latte.
Spend the day with Sue the TRex at the Field Museum. Pop a Genius, walk around, and get lost among the 40 millions specimens this museum holds.
Book tickets to the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. This is one of the most magically induced exhibits you will ever experience. Go get your Genius on with the genius that was Van Gogh.
Go on a Chicago Architecture Boat Tour. Our city is rich with history especially when it comes to its architecture. Grab a spot on a boat, pop a Genius, and learn all about what makes our city so visually spectacular.
Genius Book Recommendation: Sapiens, A Brief History of Humankind, by Yuval Noah Harari OR At Home by Bill Bryson
Go
Run, walk, bike, the 606. This elevated walkway is such a treat to our city and goes from Wicker Park to Humbolt Park with entrances and exits along the way. It’s the perfect spot to hop on for a jog. Stop at Ipsento Coffee to see their beautiful giant mural and grab a donut or coffee.
Head to the Chicago Lakefront Trail for breathtaking views. There are 18 miles of lakefront access in Chicago. Take a Go and go on a breathtaking stroll along the lakeside.
Explore Andersonville, my absolute favorite neighborhood in the whole city to go on walking “pub crawls”. There is so much to walk, see, eat, and drink. Be sure to stop at Simon’s dive bar for a beer, Big Jones for gumbo, and Hopleaf for Belgium-style mussels.
Pop a Go and go on a road trip. Chicago is surrounded by a plethora of spots to visit in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Mackinaw Island, Michigan, and Door County, Wisconsin are two of my favorite places to visit. Pack up the car and go explore!
Go Book Recommendation: The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, by V.E. Schwab OR The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
