I love a good change of seasons to help add a little spice to my life and when it comes to fall, it’s my most favorite season to shop for. I adore all things cozy, pumpkin, and spooky.
This list is a bit different than your typical all-plaid fannel and all pumpkin spice fall must-haves list.
Being a midwesterner, I know that the shift in seasons can bring excitement, change in attire, and opportunities to revamp well-being.
So when it comes to my Fall Must-Haves not only will I have some fall fashion, but also items I use daily that help me all year-round but especially during the change of seasons when a lot of life is in shift mode.
Particularly Equilibria CBD gummies I take daily for mental balance, Ayurvedic based anti-aging face oil by UMA that will help with the change of weather and outdoor elements, a firepit for ultimate hygge experiences, and last but certainly not least, an Autumn inspired soy coconut wax candle by The Paper Peony to help create the coziest of vibes in my home.
I am so excited to share some stuff I am absolutely in love with this season.
Happy Fall, y’all!
1. 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think
The past year I have read a couple books that have really challenged (in a very wonderful way) the manner in which I automatically think about things and people. The Four Agreements was the first to kick things off and I’ve followed it up with this brain-bender of a page-turner.
I love how it makes me actually pause, highlight, and think about how I think.

2. Herschel Fanny Pack
I have been on the hunt for a leisure fanny pack for a year. I didn’t want leather, but I didn’t want sporty either – I was truly on a mission to find the perfect happy medium. Then, when out of nowhere, I was walking down Jackson Blvd in the loop when a woman passed me wearing exactly what I had been looking for…a leisure fanny pack.
Committed to my mission, I stopped to ask her where it was from. “Herschel!”, she said.
Two men passing laughed and one said, “I have never seen anyone stop to ask someone where their fanny pack was from.”
“Well, I’m not just anybody,” I replied and skipped away filled with so much happiness from minediscovery.
I am in love with this fanny pack. It is exactly what I am looking for in size, texture, and look.

3. Creepin’ It Real by The Paper Peony
Being that it is fall, you need candles. Good news…we have the perfect pumpkin candle for you. Creepin’ It Real by our friend Jennifer over at The Paper Peony will make all your pumpkin spice lovin’ dreams come true.
Her candles are hand-poured soy coconut wax with wooden wicks. They burn absolutely beautifully and have a little crackle to them.
If you’re not that into pumpkin spice-scented candles, worry not – she has an entire collection to choose from. Two of our other favorites are Palo Santo and Corner Loft.
Made locally in Downer Grove, IL.

4. Corduroy Skirt
There is something so 90’s about above-the-knee skirts. Whether they’re plaid or corduroy, they scream fall 1996 and I love it!
I stumbled upon this adorable skirt up in Roscoe Village at a darling boutique called, Winnie Cooper. Yes, inspired partly by that Winnie from The Wonder Years.
The buttons down the side sold me on this piece. The brand runs a bit small so I went with a size Large. I am a 6/8.
I also picked up this loose linen blouse in white and I am head over heels in love. So much so that I called to also buy it in black. This top is a staple and can be worn so many different, fabulous ways.

5. Solo Stove
Bonfires are what make the fall season extra hygge. Sitting around with friends or even by yourself reading a good book with a glass of wine, is the coziest damn thing you can do.
Now, when it comes to fire pits, not all are created equally. Solo Stove is known for its smokeless fires that are easy to set and put out. Another plus, you don’t go to bed smelling like you rolled around in it – although I don’t totally hate that smell.
The Solo Stove Bonfire is the perfect size for a group of adults to get their autumn hygge on while staying super freaking cozy.

6. Target Universal Thread Boater Hat
Both Michelle and I adore hats. When we find one we love, we go with it for seasons at a time.
Target has really amped up their hat inventory coming in all sorts of colors and styles. I particularly love this boater hat by Universal Thread. So much so that I bought it both in black and burnt orange.
A small yet very important detail is that it comes with velcro adjustable sizing.

7. UMA Face Oil
What do I look for in a face oil? Hydration.
Way back when I first started using face oils, I laid off moisturizers in the forms of lotions so hydration is key. UMA’s anti-aging face oil smells magical with notes of juniper berry and frankincense. The routine of patting it onto my face actually feels luxurious. I’m not kidding.
My face has a subtle, healthy glow all day due to its nourishing elements. And let’s be honest, the bottle is stunning. The good news is, what’s inside is just as beautiful.
Honorable mentions go to UMA’s Absolute Anti-Aging Aloe Rose Toner and Absolute Anti-Aging Face Mask.
I love this quote from their site:
Every bottle of Uma is the culmination of rich tradition, powerful science, and above all, love.

8. Mashallah Evil Eye
With the spooky season right around the corner and plenty of negativity running rampant all over the place, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to arm yourself with an evil eye bracelet to ward off any bad vibes.
I wear mine every single day because not only does it keep me protected from blood-sucking energy vampires, but it’s beautiful to layer with.
It is made locally by our friend and jewelry maker, Mashallah.
If you love vintage, be sure to stop in her store in Pilsen. Her selection is unreal.

9. Baxter Wood Rain Coat
The other day I dreamt that I was wearing a yellow raincoat with a hood. About a day after I was at Pitchfork when I came across a vendor selling…you guessed it, raincoats. Immediately I tried the yellow one on and loved it, however, I went home with the olive green because that’s more my hue.
I am 5’5, 145 pounds, about a size 6/8, and bought the medium. It’s perfect, a bit boxy, and has plenty of room for a chunky sweater.
I read the reviews and if they are telling the truth, this raincoat is very water-proof and at a totally reasonable price.
Made locally in Indiana.

10. Equilibria Gummies
For two years now I have been taking 10mg Equilibria soft gels for my daily intake of organic and fully traceable CBD. Then in August, there was a plot twist.
Equilibria came out Daily Gummies (10mg) and if you know me, you know I love my gummies.
The Pineapple Dragonfruit 10mg EQ Gummies are absolutely delightful. They’re like a little sweet treat filled with the most beautiful plant cannabinoids that offer balance and some calm to my day.
I take one every single morning because consistency is key with it comes to CBD.

11. Madewell Cozy Top
Autumn calls for layers and warmth so it’s important to have those go-to tops to throw on before starting the day off. This top is similar to waffle print but so much softer and cozier. I love the neckline and tightly cuffed sleeves.
Tip: Add a cute terracotta or nude tank underneath for a layered look along with a French tuck.
Medium in green.
