As a born and raised Chicagoan, one thing I know about fashion is that layering is the key to cozy comfort as we transition from season to season.
Specifically, the fall season.
You can’t just pile it on come October. There is an art to the layering of apparel.
There is nothing worse than showing up for fall ball with a light sweater, but then the sun goes down and it feels like the coldest of fronts just blew in and you are ill-prepared.
That’s why layering is key.
Having layers offers preparation for the sudden change or dip in temps.
The first layer should be light and from there, you build. Solid, muted tones are my preference.
I like to add a slouchy sweater and accessorize it with a scarf or something around the neck.
P.S. The Beach Days Knit Cardigan from Vintage Charm is one of my current fall layering favorites.
You can finish the look off with your warmest layer and should little Suzie’s soccer game be played on one of those unseasonably warm fall days, ditch the outwear and you are golden.
Layers, texture, and cozy things are a necessity come fall, and there is no shortage of any of those items at Vintage Charm.
