The Perfect Holiday Dress Does Exist

‘Tis the season for holiday attire.

This means that for the next month we will be seeing tons of sequins, reds, golds, greens, and hopefully a few ugly sweaters.

The above dress is the ensemble I chose for this year’s Cozy AF Holiday Shopping Shindig at Vintage Charm in La Grange. I plan to also wear it on Christmas Eve and possibly to a really festive holiday party I was invited to. I’m extra excited about that latter as I couldn’t make it last season.

There are several things I adore about this dress. The color is perfectly festive. The cut is what postpartum fashion dreams are made of, plus it’s extremely comfortable. It’s kind of sexy. And last but certainly not least, it’s one of those dresses that can be styled and accessorized in a variety of fun and festive ways.

Here’s why I love that last detail so much.

At five months postpartum a lot of what is in my closet doesn’t fit. And if it does, it doesn’t fit like it used to. Not going to lie, it’s a massive pain in the ass. It also makes getting ready take a lot longer than it used to and with a little baby, ain’t nobody got time for that.

To help alleviate some of the stress and frustration of getting dressed, I’ve added some capsule-like pieces to my wardrobe to make my life a little easier. Including Spanx pants from Vintage Charm. Omg, they are a dream!

These days, I can easily mix and match several clothing items without feeling awful about all the unworn clothes staring back at me from their hangers. I’ll get to those in time.

Now I wouldn’t consider this beautiful, green dress a capsule piece per se, however, I would definitely consider it a festive holiday dress that I can wear numerous times with different accessories and hair.

In fact, I can not wait to pair it with June’s fur and my gold Luna nameplate necklace for one of my events.

My message to you this holiday season is to dress in whatever way makes you feel good. And really freaking festive.

And remember, every morning when you look in the mirror, say to yourself, I am beautiful.
